3 Speed Manual Transmission

Is the 4-speed manual transmission the same for both 4 and 6 cylinder Fieros?

I have a 86' GT with a 4-speed, and recently 3rd gear lost a tooth and AAMCO transmissions told me it would cost in excess of $1500 to replace it.
I found a 84' Fiero with a 4-speed, 2.5L 4 cylinder engine. It's pretty beat up and the clutch is out, but it's in an apartment complex and instead of the advertised $300, he's offered me $100 to get it out ASAP.
I need to know if his transmission will bolt up to my 2.8L V6.

The transmission, should fit... However, you may have to change the bellhousings... Maybe. Either way, I would grab the one, for $100. There are still dozens of parts, that you'll be able to use, in the future, I am sure, of it. For $100, you don't get much, today. If I were you, I would take the $100 car, now, and, worry about the little details, later. If you have the car, you can always take off, what you want, and,then dispose of what is left. However, if you don't have the car, you can't do much, of anything, at all, can you? $100, wouldn't even buy the transmission, anywhere else. You are being offered a deal. take it, and, don't look back.
