Auto-Transmission Fluid change - Now it slips.?
I realize that the high detergent new tran fluid will wash away some clutch material that allows a high mileage transmission to work properly. And, it is common for a fluid/filter change to upset this balance and cause it to slip. If I had problems with the torque converter, pump, servos, solenoids, epc, valve body, gaskets or seals.....I would have had problems prior to the new fluid. Is it logical to assume that if everything was working OK before the new fluid that new clutch packs and bands will likely fix the problem?
I am using the OEM recommended fluid and it is at the proper level when engine is running.
Do you mean like when taking corners and beginning to accelerate, the car will briefly go into neutral and then lurch back into drive? Dad tought me that that is a sign you're low on transmission fluid. Have you checked the fluid when the engine was warm and running?
