Is an ecm necessary on a carbureted engine with a t56 transmission?
i was looking into some crate engines and the one i like the most doesn't include an ecm or engine harness and i thought that a carburated engine didn't have any electronics but i did hear that some transmission needed an ecm.

The link for the engine is an injected engine. But I guess your going to buy all of the conversion stuff to make it a carb engine.
If so the trans will be fine, but, you will have to deal with the electronic reverse lock out though. There's a kit to fix that- if not you just have to muscle it into reverse.
